Saluting the men of the past
It is our intention to publish historical articles that have appeared in the Regimental Journal, The Red Hackle. Many have been researched and written by men who have served in the Regiment. By doing so, we hope to describe the spirit and corporate life of this old and illustrious Regiment in both peace and war. The principal character, whose life and spirit animates the whole story is that of the soldier, the "Jock".
The Red Hackle Magazine was first published in April 1921 and, with the exception of the war years 1939-45, it has recorded the life of the Regiment since then. Over the years it has developed and evolved and readers may order copies by The Black Watch Assoication.
