Museum visits

The Museum is always delighted to receive group visits from veterans, school outings, special interest organisations or coach tours. We will try to accommodate any particular requirements. 

A group admission charge can be arranged – please contact the Museum to discuss, and to book your group visit.

Group visits can be arranged outside normal opening hours. An additional charge may be made to cover additional staffing costs.

Schools

Outreach

The Museum has an active outreach programme and this has been approved by Local Authorities in the Regimental area. The programme links to the current Primary Curriculum and Standard Grade Curriculum for Excellence. 

An outreach visit is tailored to the school's needs. It can involve a slideshow presentation, a handling session and dressing up. The slideshow can focus on soldiers local to the school or anotehr topic as desired.
The cost of an outreach visit is flexible – at a minimum the Museum looks to cover costs. Please contact the Museum to discuss, and to book your outreach visit.

Visits to the Museum

Special programmes are available for educational visits involving tours of the Museum (adapted to the age of the group), dressing up in period uniforms, quizzes about artefacts on display and games relating to the history of The Black Watch.

Educational materials

In addition imaginative material on a number of different historical periods has been prepared for teachers to use in school prior to or after a visit.
