Education Services

Museum visits

The Black Watch Regimental Museum is always delighted to receive group visits from veterans, school outings, special interest organisations or coach tours - and it will try to accommodate any particular requirements. Such visits can be arranged outside normal opening hours but a charge may have to be made to cover additional staffing costs.

Schools

The Museum has an active outreach programme which is approved by Local Authorities in our area and links to the current Primary Curriculum and Standard Grade Curriculum for Excellence. In addition special programmes are available for educational visits involving tours of the Museum adapted to the age of the group, dressing up in period uniforms, quizzes about artefacts on display and games relating to the history of The Black Watch.

In addition imaginative material on a number of different historical periods has been prepared for teachers to use in school prior to or after a visit.

Bookings

To make a booking enquiry about any of these educational opportunities contact the Museum Curator on 01738 638152 or 0131 310 8530.
