I'm Hackle, the Castle Dog. I belong to Jim, the Museum Attendant. Ive been coming to work with Jim every day since I came to live with his family. The Castle is my home and I love it here.
I like biscuits, belly rubs and meeting new people and I get to do this every day!
There are lots of fun things to do at the Museum something for children of all ages!
Our family backpacks are a great way to keep younger visitors amused during their visit. You can borrow one from the reception desk for your visit. The Pack includes a Tam o Shanter hat, a magnifying glass and coloured pencils. Make sure you get one of our Family Activity Sheets too!
The most important thing to point out is that theres a small prize for completing your Family Activity remember to ask at the Reception desk on your way out!
These are my favourite Family Activity Sheets they star me! There are different levels of difficulty depending on your age. The Trail will take you all over the Castle and get you investigating the displays.
Our new Family Activity Centre has lots of things to keep younger visitors amused:
The Family Activity Backpacks, Activity Sheets and Activity Centre are fun for ALL the family. Children should be supervised by an accompanying adult.

There's a selection of fun activites you can download in our Activities To Download section.
The Castle is a fantastic place for a family day out. The gardens are open to the public and visitors are welcome to bring a picnic. The Castle is right next to the North Inch park and a superb new play area.
Hope to see you soon at the Castle & Museum!
