The Friends have been pleased to bestow the title of Honorary Friend on several of its most valued members.

2012

Provost of Angus, Ruth Leslie Melville MBE OStJ - for the excellent support she has given to the Black Watch Regimental Family and the redevelopment plans for the future of The Black Watch Castle and Museum

2011

Lord Lieutenant of Perth and Kinross, Brigadier Melville Jameson CBE - for the excellent support he has shown over the years to the wider Black Watch Regimental Family and also the development plans for the future of The Black Watch Castle and Museum.

Provost of Perth and Kinross, Dr John Hulbert - for his excellent support to the wider Black Watch Regimental Family and the preservation of the legacy of The Black Watch held within The Black Watch Museum at it's spiritual home, Balhousie Castle.

Lord Provost of Dundee, Mr John Letford - for showing excellent support to the wider Black Watch Regimental Family and for presiding as President of the Black Watch Association. The Provost, Council and the people of Dundee have always held their local Regiment close to their hearts

Lord Lieutenant of Fife, Mrs Margaret Dean – for showing excellent support to the wider Black Watch Regimental Family and the people of Fife have always held their local Regiment close to their hearts

Fraser Brown – in recognition of his dedication to developing the Education Service at the Museum, with tireless enthusiasm and professionalism.

Jim Turpie – in recognition of 15 years volunteering front-of-house, greeting visitors and as Gate Master.
