WHAT DID YOU LIKE?

“The quiz for children to do”

“The collection is wonderful, relevant and moving”

“Lots of things to see and do – could spend a lot of time here”

“The human stories”

“The paintings and categorisation of the museum by campaigns”

“Notes at every exhibit”

“All very good presentation and use of visual aids”

“A personal museum”

“A fantastic collection”

Thank you for your comments. We’re glad when visitors enjoy their time at the Museum. It is pleasing to see that recent improvements to the Museum are noticed and appreciated.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER?

“The stained glass window depicting the 3 soldiers should be moved to a place where it can be better highlighted”

What a shame you didn’t see the window in its full glory! When the sun shines through the window it looks splendid. Although it would be a pity to light it with false light rather than natural light, this is something we can keep in mind for future developments.

“Better car park area”

The car park is an issue we are looking forward to solving in the near future, with our planned redevelopment of the Castle & Museum grounds.

“More audio visual presentations

The Museum is planned for a major redevelopment in the coming years. Audio-visual presentations are a top priority and something we are keen to see more of in the Museum.

WHAT SUGGESTIONS DO YOU HAVE?

“More prominent signage from the city centre

Thank you for pointing this out! We have as much signage as we are allowed within reason, but this is always something worth looking into again.

“Educational tours and days for youngsters”

Tours are available upon request, for school groups and youth groups. Young people are welcome at all our events. We are about to start doping regular family events, including craft sessions and outdoor activities – keep an eye on our website for details.

“A more modern building will be perfect”

We think so too! Watch this space…
