The Grey Lodge Settlement (Dundee) presented a cheque for £2758.25 to the Black Watch Heritage Appeal at a ceremony in the City Chambers on 21st April 2010.
The funds were raised by the annual Perth Jail Break, organised by the Grey Lodge Settlement (Dundee). On Saturday 20th March 2010 the staff at The Black Watch Castle and Museum took part in the Perth Jail Break, along with various teams from the local area.
The idea was to "Break Out" of Perth Prison and get as far away as possible by the end of the day. The team who travelled furthest made it to Germany. The team who travelled furthest in the UK made it to Dorset.
The team from the Black Watch Castle and Museum won the "Muscles" trophy for travelling the furthest distance without using fuel. The team walked to Balhousie Castle (a whole 2 miles!) for a cooked breakfast.
