The Black Watch Museum Object of the Month

The Black Watch was an elite military Regiment whose history stretches back almost three centuries. This website aims to provide comprehensive information on everything 'Black Watch' from the history of the Regiment to its current activities and exists to celebrate and sustain that unique heritage and tradition.

Armed Forces Day celebrations in Dundee

Dundee City Council, with the assistance of local military units, veterans associations and cadet forces have planned a number of events to celebrate Armed Forces Day 2010, as detailed below.

Friday 2nd July: Beating of Retreat by Combined Cadet Bands on City Square at 19:45hrs.

Saturday 3rd July: Community entertainment and static displays from 10:30 - 16:00hrs in High Street and City Square.

Saturday 3rd July: Armed Forces Day Parade. Departing St Andrew's Church, King Street at 12:30hrs a large parade involving Regular and Reserve Forces, Veteran's Associations and Cadet Forces will march to City Square via Cowgate, Panmure Street, Albert Square and Reform Street.

Saturday 3rd July: A "Heroes Concert" starring The Alexander Brothers will be held in the Caird Hall commencing at 19:00hrs with all proceeds being donated to Service Charities. Tickets, priced at £10.00, can be obtained from the Dundee City Box Office in City Square (01382 434940).

Sunday 4th July: Armed Forces Day Church Service at St Mary's Parish Church (City Churches), Nethergate at 11:00hrs. A service of worship in recognition and celebration of Armed Forces, past, present and future.
