Doors Open at Balhousie Castle

On 25th and 26th September the Museum of The Black Watch, based at Balhousie Castle, will open its doors as part of Doors Open Day 2010. Entry to the Museum will be free all weekend, and the Museum will run a number of events.
- Captivating Collections is a chance to discover the hidden secrets of the Museum of The Black Watch. Meet the staff for drinks before being led on an exclusive tour of the Museum. The event will be held on Friday 24th September 2010 from 7-9pm. Tickets are £5 and this includes refreshments. Booking is essential.
- On Saturday 25th September 2010, local storyteller Dolina Wallace will be delighting visitors, young and old, with stories, folk tales, and legends of Old Perth. Enjoy the magic of live stories in this wonderful setting.
Doors Open Day
Doors Open Day in Perth & Kinross is a unique chance to enjoy a rich variety of architecture and heritage. Make up your own itinerary of visits, with music and exhibitions, guided tours and walks adding to the wide range of buildings open.
Set in beautiful gardens close to the centre of Perth, the Museum of The Black Watch is housed in the dramatic Balhousie Castle, a medieval tower house extensively renovated by David Smart in 1864.
