The Museum is very lucky to have a dedicated and keen group of volunteers, with a wide variety of skills.
Some volunteers carry out specific projects, with a clear objective and end point. Other volunteers perform tasks that are part of the day-to-day running of the Museum. Either way, the help of volunteers is integral to the smooth running of the Museum and its continuing development.
Every volunteer has a contribution to make, no matter how big or small. Each individual works to a different standard or level, can give a certain amount of time to a project, and has a different set of skills that can be utilised.
Managing volunteers takes commitment from the employer, as well as the volunteer. Each volunteer is unique and deserves time, consideration and thanks. Whether a social historian, a seamstress or an electrician, our diverse group of volunteers keep the Museum – literally and metaphorically – moving forward.
