Volunteer Role Description

Role Title: Collections – Entry/Exit/Loans

Location: Collections Office

Department: Collections

Line-Manager: Emma Halford-Forbes, Museum Manager

Purpose of the role:

To oversee the movement of items into and out of the Museum’s collections.

Main Duties and Activities:

·        Liaise with Collections staff regarding:
o   Corresponding with donors
o   Overseeing paperwork and correspondence relating to items exiting the Collection
o   Overseeing paperwork and correspondence relating to items being loaned to/from the Collection

·        Liaise with Collections – Accessioning volunteer regarding items newly entered into the Collection and approved for Accessioning

Hours or Day(s) Required:

Approximately one half day per week

Skills & Personal Qualities:

·        Basic computer competence
·        An eye for detail
·        Organisational skills

Training of the Volunteer:

·        On Collections Procedures relating to Entry, Exit and Loans
·        On Adlib database and data entry
