We aim to make the Castle and Museum welcoming and accessible for all our visitors. We hope the access information below will help you plan your visit and have a memorable experience with us.

Museum Entrance
The path from the car park to our front door is level access. The entrance from the North Inch Parklands has 19 steep steps (railings either side) leading onto slab stones and gravel before coming to the flat courtyard area.

Lifts and Access
The Castle Cafe, Gift Shop and facilities are located on the ground floor; all are level access. The Black Watch Museum is housed over two floors, the second floor is accessible via stairs or the lift.
All areas are accessible for prams, pushchairs, manual and electric wheelchairs. Most galleries have wooden floors, the reminder are carpeted. The floor in the Castle Café, Castle Gift Shop and facilities are tiled.

There is a limited number of seating in each gallery and the Gift Shop. Benches are located within the grounds and during summer months tables and chairs are in the courtyard area.

Please note there is lower lighting in our World War One gallery due to the atmospheric design of the exhibit.
