Museum Explorer’s Club: Rubbish Rations
Saturday 30th June | 1.30pm-4.00pm
What did The Black Watch eat during the First World War? Find out as we explore the Museum’s replica First World War trench, taste hard tack biscuits, write a soldier’s cook book and create our own emergency ration tins.

Museum Explorer’s Club Tough Teamwork
Saturday 7th July | 1.30pm-4.00pm
Being in the army is about teamwork. Learn how soldiers in The Black Watch worked together to overcome challenges and put your own teamwork skills to the test by completing a series of tricky tasks.

Museum Explorer’s Club: Soldier Style
Saturday 14th July | 1.30pm-4.00pm
It’s time to get dressed-up as we look at the uniforms and equipment used by The Black Watch throughout the Regiment’s history. Afterwards, have a go at creating your own Brodie helmet, a piece of headgear worn by British soldiers during the First and Second World Wars.

Museum Explorer’s Club: Marvellous Maps
Saturday 21st July | 1.30pm-4.00pm
Map reading is an important skill for a soldier. Discover how maps were used by The Black Watch and brush up on your navigation skills as we play Black Watch Battleships and complete a challenging Castle Treasure Hunt. Will we be able to find the grand prize?

Museum Explorer’s Club: Incredible India 
Saturday 28th July | 1.30pm-4.00pm
Find out about The Black Watch’s heroic defence of the city of Mangalore and the mighty Tipu Sultan’s mechanical tiger. Create your own decorated Ghazi shield and design some amazing Indian silverware.

Museum Explorer's Club: Battle of Amiens  
Saturday 4th August | 1.30pm-4.00pm
The Battle of Amiens was the beginning of the final Allied offensive of the First World War. Find out how the British Army used new weapons to break through the German lines and construct your own ‘Whippet’ tank and Bi-Plane models.

Museum Explorer’s Club: Join The Black Watch  
Saturday 11th August | 1.30pm-4.00pm
Find out what it was like to join the British Army in the early 19th Century and work as a team to create a colourful recruitment poster.
